Maddie and Stu.

These two have SUCH a connection, and it was clear from the first moment I read their application for my LET’S GET HITCHED! PHOTOGRAPHY GIVEAWAY. How could I pass up on photographing a couple who chose April Fools Day to get married in a city where the bride herself had never visited??

Maddie and Stu got ready together and met me in Oakland to start their photoshoot. This talented bride made her own beautiful bouquet and her new groom’s boutonniere. Early April was still brisk, so we kicked off the session with some cuddling around the classic Oakland spots. Stu really loved the elegant Cathedral architecture so we made a point to incorporate that into the shoot as much as possible.

After exploring Oakland (and warming up in the car), we headed to the North Shore for some city views… Stu’s friend met us there so he could act as one of the witnesses (along with myself!) for their self-uniting wedding ceremony. (Did you know you could do that??)

Their ceremony was simple and incredibly heartfelt. I photographed from afar so they could enjoy their quiet moments together. Then afterward it was back to cuddling along the river! Once we finished up our photoshoot, Maddie and Stu chose to place a lock on the Roberto Clemente Bridge to commemorate their love and wedding date. It was a beautiful moment.

Much congratulations to you both, and thank you for choosing me. I was honored to be such an intimate part of your day!
