Brittany and Brian @ Frick Park (engagement session)

When your favorite hockey teams are sworn enemies, you memorialize it in your photo session. In this case despite what you see in this Crosby-Ovechkin matchup, the Pens came out on top. HAHAAAAA!!!!

Brittany and Brian met me in Frick Park for their engagement session, a location within walking distance to their home and very meaningful at this point in their lives. We wandered around the paths, explored the stone arches and iron gates, and walked through the cemetery and nearby streets. I had so much fun getting to know this sweet couple! Here are handful of my favorite images from their session…

I immediately connected with Brittany the first time I spoke to her on the phone- probably because I am friends with her sister and they sound EXACTLY alike. So I wasn’t surprised when this bride and groom showed up for their photo session in Frick Park, and it didn’t take very long for us all to warm up. We had FUN! After walking along some of the trails that avid runner Brittany often takes, we headed over to the stone archway on the other end of the park for some more variety.

It was clear to me early on that Brian is a great cuddler, so many of the poses I used brought them together and let them do their thing. I was just along with a camera! But we had fun with the fall season, too- throwing leaves and playing with the warm sunset tones. Especially toward the end when we found a patch of red leaves and let them cuddle in for some intimate portraits. And of course Brian is a big judo fan, so when he pulled some moves on his fiancée during their session, I of course photographed it! HAHA

Finally after the sun set over the horizon and we had some beautiful warm light in the alleyways nearby, Brittany and Brian changed into their favorite hockey jerseys and we paid tribute to the Penguins-Capitals rivalry. It was a great ending to a fun photo session.

Brittany and Brian, I am looking forward to your wedding next fall on the most popular date of the year!!! 😉
