The C. Family | Family Photos at Home (with newborn baby!)

candid family picture of family of four in pittsburgh

I so very much appreciate when my engagement and wedding clients come back when they have kiddos of their own… there’s just something extra special about photographing a growing family from the time they first come together, seeing the dynamics change and little ones grow up and building friendships of our own. (Ashley and Caleb have come a long way from their Soldiers and Sailors wedding 8 years ago!)

You may remember the sweet session of little C I photographed a little over a year ago…… well now SHE IS A BIG SISTER!!!

I was so excited to meet this new little man, and to see his parents embrace the juggle that is having more than one kid. Ashley and Caleb, you are amazing parents. Thank you for inviting me into an afternoon of your life. ❤️

Little W was two months old before I met him in his home, and you could definitely see his personality starting to peek out… Mom even managed to coach some smiles out of him! Big sister C wasn’t super keen on embracing him yet, so we made sure to give equal attention to both kids while I was there. And she was happy to demand some camera attention of her own!

We started the session in the living room, allowing the kids to set the pace and capturing candid moments around the house. After baby W. finished eating, mom got some quality time with him while dad headed outside with big sister C. She was ready to run around and work out some energy!

We did manage to pull off some great relaxed family portraits outside once C was ready to cooperate. The beauty of a 2 hour session is that you have flexibility when we introduce the portraits, so we could wait until the kids were on board and the lighting was just perfect. Score.

If you’d rather scroll through the pictures at your own pace, here you go:

The best time to book your newborn session is when you find out you are expecting! I only take a limited number of newborn sessions per year, in order to ensure I can accommodate all of them in a timely manner while still giving quality attention to my other clients. In particular fall is an incredibly popular time of year for family sessions, so if you’re expecting an autumn baby, let’s chat now!
