This close-knit family is originally from the Pittsburgh area, but they live a few hours away now… However, they travel in often and had planned on a newborn session for their baby girl. Unfortunately the Covid-19 pandemic had different plans!!!
After waiting patiently this year for things to ease up, we finally were able to meet up at mom’s childhood home to capture relaxed family portraits of this young family (almost on her first birthday!).

We expected rain on this cool fall day, and for the first half of the session it did drizzle outside quite a bit. But baby girl didn’t pay it any notice, tearing through the outside toys with her parents. We grabbed some relaxed family pictures while we were out there, and then headed inside once the rain picked up.
This is a beautiful example of what we can accomplish, even expecting rain on the day of your photo session… We can always cozy up in some big soft window light and snuggle for some great intimate portraits… while also capturing some fantastic candid photos of your daily life, too. Most importantly, little kids are so very comfortable in their natural environment, and will loosen up much more quickly!

Remember that the sun is setting earlier and earlier this fall (especially now that Daylight Savings time has gone into effect), so expect to schedule your fall family pictures a little earlier in the afternoon than you would expect. Generally speaking my fall weekend timeslots are booked up a couple of months ahead of time, but weekdays are often available! Let’s chat about your availability and figure out a date that works for you…
